Individual/child/family/headshots

  • Individual shoots: Your shoot is all about you and your personality so please wear clothes you like and feel comfortable in. If it is a birthday shoot feel free to wear something glamorous.

Try to avoid clothes with large logos as these can distract from the image itself.

Unlike group shoots, the focus is on you and therefore bright colours and patterns are fine to wear. We have plenty of backdrop options in the studio and can find one which will work well for you and your outfit choices.

Child photos: Children can wear any clothes that you like them in. Avoiding logos on clothes helps to stop images aging. If you are taking part in a cake smash we normally recommend your child is in something you don’t mind getting cake on.

Corporate headshots: We recommend wearing what you would wear to work in your job and this may be formal or more casual. We tend to have you seated on a stool for this shoot.

Whilst called a ‘corporate headshot’ we can take longer 3/4 length photos if required.

Family shoots: We recommend wearing clothing which you are comfortable in. Complimentary clothing colours between family members is advised but please don’t all turn up in the same outfit - it can look a bit strange.

Try to avoid having individuals wearing clothes with large logos and those which are heavily patterned as these can distract from the image itself.

We will be shooting against either a white, grey, black or coffee coloured backdrop.

At the end of the day it is your shoot, and, whilst this is purely advice, it is your choice on what you wish wear in your photos.

  • When you arrive we will take some time to get to know each other and to talk through the shoot itself. There is a private changing room if you, your family or child need to change clothes when you arrive.

Once ready, you will either stand or sit in front of the backdrop. A few photos will be taken to test the lighting, and once ready you will be guided on how to pose by the photographer to keep the images looking natural.

The photographer will keep talking to you throughout the shoot and help support you to achieve some beautiful images. You can ask any questions you may have throughout. We try and make every shoot fun and enjoyable to keep you relaxed.

You will be able to view some of the images during the shoot on a tablet or laptop so that you can see what the photographer sees. We will also try to ensure there is time at the end of the shoot to also have a look too before we send over the gallery.

  • We ask that you sit with us during the shoot to encourage your child to look towards camera and smile. We will both be sat on the floor in font of your child. We can also play music or put a YouTube video on if needed. Many children do not enjoy getting messy so we will take photos with the cake instead and you have the option of bringing other outfits too.

Pet photography

  • As with any new environment, we will allow your pet a bit of time to have a look around, where appropriate, and become a bit more familiar with the space.

We tend to put all pets on a blanket on either the floor or a raised box in front of a backdrop. We have a large selection of backdrops from plain colours to textured papers/fabrics. We will discuss how each affects the overall image and pick one or two to work with during the shoot.

Once ready we will take some photos to test lighting and then, once happy, will start the shoot.

We do recommend bringing a favourite toy or some treats to help encourage your dog to stay in place and to look towards the camera.

Dance portfolio builder

  • Our dance portfolio builder is designed to give you a selection of images to start, or add to, your portfolio.

WIthin the studio we can capture any style of dance and have a 3.7m wide backdrop and padded vinyl floor.

The shoot allows warm up and cool down time, time to change outfits in our private dressing room, and work at a sensible pace - especially if you are including jumps or leaps in your images.

Our camera is connected to a laptop and monitor so that after each set of images, normally about 12-15, you can come over and review them, check your form and posture, and ensue they are what you want to see of yourself.

Various lighting styles can be used during the shoot to match your style of dance or the creativity you’d like to see in your images.

  • Please wear the dance clothes you wish to have photos taken in. You have time to change into various outfits during the shoot itself and you can bring accessories too if you wish.
